Martin Armstrong is considered one of the most controversial financial analysts of our time. He rose to prominence with his “Economic Confidence Model,” a cyclical model that aims to predict political upheavals, financial crises, and geopolitical shifts.
Armstrong’s predictions brought him into the crosshairs of powerful institutions in the 90s. His analyses on currencies, systemic instability, and geopolitical escalationmade him an adversary to those who seek to control the global narrative.
In 2000, Armstrong was arrested—a case riddled with inconsistencies that remains an example of how dangerous inconvenient truths can become. He spent more than a decade in prison, with many observers calling it “political retaliation.”
Following his release, Armstrong returned stronger than before, delivering:
For many, he is now regarded as one of the few analysts who does not sugarcoat global risks—but mercilessly exposes them.
The view of the world that opens up to the long-time observer of governments and heads of state is dark and exposing. At the center of this analysis is a disturbing finding about the political class that has steered the fate of nations for decades: A career politician has no moral qualms about sending people to war.
The reason is a cold, learned indifference. These functionaries are trained to view the dying soldiers on the battlefield as mere “collateral damage.” The supreme dogma is:
💬 “We just have to win.”This mindset, which Armstrong has observed over his 40 years of experience, resembles the ruthless logic of trade: one celebrates one’s own triumph without considering that this gain inevitably means another’s loss. This Cold Heart is the engine driving the current escalation.
Legendary economic analyst Martin Armstrong paints a disturbing picture: Europe is deliberately steering toward war because the economy is collapsing. Trump was indoctrinated by the neocons. And the false-flag operations with drones over Europe are just the beginning of an escalation that could end in a three-front world war.
“They tell leaders that NATO has 3.4 million soldiers, Russia has 1.5 million – we can just march in”
Martin Armstrong begins the conversation with a warning that will shock many Trump supporters: The president may be unintentionally leading the US into World War III. Trump came out and said – as Armstrong suspects, sarcastically – that Zelensky could reconquer all of Ukraine and even get more. Russia is a “paper tiger” and so on.
The problem: Everything Trump said is exactly what the neoconservatives in Europe are saying.
They tell leaders a clear story:
Armstrong describes their mindset with biting sarcasm:
💬 “They really believe they could just march into Russia, Putin would fall to his knees begging for his life, and he should be happy if they don’t cut off his head, put it on a stick and march through the streets with it.”Armstrong doesn’t even consider this realistic. What Trump did – because Armstrong knows the neocons actually say this – was to be sarcastic. But the real problem is: You can’t reason with a fool, and you’re an even bigger fool than the fool if you think you can convince him he’s wrong.
What Armstrong already sees in Europe: They’re using this sarcastic comment to say: “See, Trump is on our side.” And he’s actually not. But the danger is real – because now Zelensky is going after Hungary: “Oh, they’re taking Russian oil.” As if, if they stopped, Russia would somehow collapse.
The whole sanctions story is a theory they always want to implement. Armstrong methodically dismantles this strategy: In 1960 they imposed sanctions on Cuba – they’re still in effect. Didn’t work. 1979 sanctions on Iran. Didn’t work. This notion that you can punish the people and they’ll rise up and overthrow their government – “I mean, that might work for a fictional movie or something, but I’ve never seen it work even once.”
💬 “This is the worst generation of world leaders I’ve seen in my entire life. And I’ve been dealing with geopolitics and governments for 50 years.”You used to be able to have an intelligent conversation. That’s over.
“Should I bring a handkerchief to wipe the drool off Biden’s mouth?”
Armstrong becomes unusually direct in his criticism of the current leadership. Biden? “Should I bring a handkerchief to wipe the drool off his mouth or something?” Starmer, Macron, Scholz – they’re all the same. Armstrong doesn’t know any of them for whom he has any respect.
The turning point, according to Armstrong, came with Bush Jr. and the deep state. He was formerly part of the selection process for US presidents.
Before 1999, it worked like this:
After that, Armstrong thinks, the deep state really took control. They asked Armstrong to come to Washington to meet Bush Jr. The statement he heard was shocking:
💬 “Oh, he’s different, he’s really dumb. And they really said that – they used exactly those words.”They picked the cabinet, they picked Dick Cheney, they assembled the whole team. Armstrong was even offered the position of Chief Economic Advisor. His answer: “No thanks, not interested. I’m not giving up my business for that.”
With Trump it was the same. When he was elected the first time, they said: “Oh, you’re not a politician, you don’t really know all this.” They picked his cabinet, filled it with John Bolton and so on. And every single one of them stabbed him in the back.
This is what people call the “deep state.” But it’s even deeper than they think. These neoconservatives are part of it. They’re simply entangled in their whole power structure and aren’t there for the country or the debt. It really doesn’t matter to them at all. It’s only about what they need to achieve.
“I had staff in Germany – a friend who is 60 years old was drafted for service”
Armstrong reports a dramatic development in Germany that shows how serious the situation really is. A staffer in Germany told him that a friend who is 60 years old was drafted for service. People Armstrong knows who five years ago thought he was crazy are now calling and saying: “Oh shit, I see it. You’re right.” It’s now in plain sight. It’s no longer fiction or a maybe. They’re saying it openly.
Why? They want war, and they have to have it, because they’re collapsing economically.
Armstrong identifies three self-inflicted crises:
The German economy has shrunk by at least 3%, probably more like 5% at this point. That means the number of available jobs has decreased. And on top of that, they’ve taken in all the migrants.
Armstrong draws a historical parallel to 1844 in the US: Severe recession, states went bankrupt. The Irish came over and said: “I’ll take the job. I’ll work for $5 an hour instead of eight.”
💬 “The feeling arose among people here that migrants were taking their jobs. There were shootings in the streets. That’s exactly what’s happening in Europe right now.”But it’s even worse in Europe, because the overwhelming majority of migrants are Muslims. Just recently, Muslims in Britain attacked a synagogue. Anti-Semitism has been reignited – because of Netanyahu, because of what he’s doing in Gaza. His attack on Qatar was absolutely brainless. He had to apologize.
In the Middle East, the Shiites, essentially Iran, are a minority – less than 20%. That’s always pitted them against the Sunnis – Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt. When Netanyahu attacked Qatar, he suddenly brought everyone to the same side. Armstrong summarizes: “Dumb. Absolutely dumb.”
“If war comes, the USA won’t pay the debts it owes you”
Gold prices are rising so sharply, and Armstrong explains why: Gold is neutral. Even central bank foreign exchange reserves have increased.
Central banks know exactly what’s coming:
The British Finance Minister and France have at least admitted they might need an IMF bailout. Armstrong has studied this topic intensively:
💬 “In Ponzi schemes, the empirical level of debt is nonsense. As long as someone is willing to buy the next tranche, the game can continue. It all collapses when you can no longer sell new debt.”That Britain and France have even admitted they might need an IMF bailout is a warning signal – it means they might not be able to sell their debt anymore. That’s why we’re suddenly seeing a very, very rapid escalation toward war.
The real problem with Europe is structural. When they introduced the euro, they came to Armstrong. He said: “Look, you need to consolidate the debt.” In the US, a fund manager can pick up the phone and say: “Buy me $10 billion in US Treasury bonds.” You can’t do that with Europe. You still have to make the same decision as if the currency, the euro, didn’t exist. Do I want Germany? Do I want Italy? Because there’s no consolidated debt.
In the US, banks must hold reserves, and those are Treasury bonds. So if California goes bankrupt, traders won’t attack the Fed. In Europe it’s completely different: If France defaults, traders will look just like in 2010 with Greece – who has the most French debt? And they’ll start shorting those banks. A chain reaction is triggered.
In 1998 Armstrong warned: “This won’t be sustainable in the long run.” He was told: “We just need to introduce the euro. We’ll deal with the debt later.” Now 26 years have passed. They still haven’t dealt with the debt and never will.
“A man just said he’s tired of his tax money going to migrants who rape our children – 22 months in prison”
What governments do when they’re about to lose: They become more authoritarian. Now everything is hate speech.
The new repression mechanisms in Europe are frightening:
A man in Britain just said he’s tired of his tax money going to migrants who rape our children. Verdict: 22 months in prison. Armstrong asks:
💬 “So you’re inciting. Where’s the evidence he incited anyone? You might as well say: ‘I’m putting you in prison because I know you wanted to kill your wife. You didn’t do it, but that doesn’t matter.’”The UK wants to introduce digital IDs for everyone, on your phone. Armstrong studied law – the record doesn’t show the sarcasm, only the words. “Yeah, sure. And I also killed JFK.” You write that in his record. Oh look, he confessed.
In Canada, the maximum penalty for hate speech is life imprisonment. And you don’t have to do anything – it’s enough to say something. “This is getting completely crazy. I don’t want to leave Florida anymore.” Armstrong was asked if he would travel to Britain. His answer: “Sorry, I won’t travel to the UK anymore. Starmer will lock me up for something I said ten years ago.”
All this is happening because they have economic problems. Armstrong gives a clear timeframe: We should expect Europe to enter a more serious economic downturn by 2028. That’s what his computer has been warning about with this 2032 stuff.
“If they get their hands on the $75 trillion, Europe will rise from the ashes like the Roman Empire”
Armstrong reverses the logic and shows: Europe has a motive to attack Russia – not the other way around. From the perspective of natural resources, Russia is the richest country in the world.
The numbers are breathtaking:
Armstrong was told quite openly that there are some people, like Macron, who believe: If they get their hands on the $75 trillion, Europe will rise from the ashes like the Roman Empire and rule the world.
💬 “I mean, that’s delusional. It’s completely delusional. But that’s why I say, you’re a fool if you think you can convince a fool that he’s wrong.”Armstrong warned Washington three to six months ago: “They’re going to stage a false-flag operation to drag us in and trigger Article 5. We need to get out of NATO.” The response was: “Yes, we agree. You’re right.”
Just a few days ago he had the same conversation. Again he was told: “Yes, we know, you’re right.” This leads Armstrong to believe that Trump’s comments were meant sarcastically – he’s saying everything the neoconservatives want to hear there. They’re all patting each other on the back and counting how much money they’ll make from invading Russia.
“I have nothing to do with Iran. I want to do business with Russia and Iran”
Nima confronts Armstrong with the drastic change in Trump’s policy. Before the election, there were several podcasts where Trump stated a completely different position.
The core statements then:
Today the situation is completely different. NBC reports: Trump directed agencies to share intelligence with Zelensky’s government to support long-range missile and drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. In the Middle East, weapons and aerial refueling aircraft are being positioned in the region. A new war between Iran and Israel seems imminent.
Armstrong delivers his analysis:
💬 “I think he was indoctrinated by the neocons. Netanyahu studied in Philadelphia, hung out with the Kristols. Irving Kristol is the one who started the whole neocon movement.”Trump threw out John Bolton and Victoria Nuland, but the choice of Rubio was problematic. Rubio is also a neocon – just smarter, not as pushy as Bolton, more soft, indirect. He was told: Trump did that as a compromise with the neocons.
“Trump now mistakenly thinks that more pressure will bring Putin to the negotiating table. And he’s completely wrong.”
“He can be glad I’m not Putin – at this point I would nuke Kyiv”
Armstrong becomes provocative and shows how far the escalation has already gone.
He outlines what he would do in Putin’s place:
Armstrong explains his logic:
💬 “I would nuke it and basically say: ‘All right, fine. Put everything else on standby. Is this what you want?’ I think you need a sign to show that these neoconservatives are wrong.”The fundamental question: “If someone comes into my house and their goal is to kill me, don’t you think that if I have a gun, I’m going to use it?”
There’s no peace with Russia, Armstrong says. Putin knows that. These neoconservatives – there’s absolutely no reason to be against Russia. It used to be communism. That collapsed. Now they’re just angry because they couldn’t shoot anyone, even though they’ve dreamed of having this war with Russia their whole lives.
Armstrong was in Washington when Gorbachev gave his speech and Reagan wanted to meet him. He knows what they said. They couldn’t call him “communist” anymore, so they said: “You can never trust a Russian.” The term switched from “communist” to simply “Russian hate.” Why? There’s no logical reason. “It’s simply racism, as I see it.”
Europe needs a scapegoat. If they don’t have one, pension funds will collapse, banking systems will collapse. And what happens then? People will storm the parliaments and drag the politicians out. Black Friday 1869: The gold price rose to $162. They started dragging the bankers out and hanging them in the streets.
“We’re not talking about tariffs here – we’re talking about the actual destruction of Russia”
Armstrong doesn’t think Trump thinks he’s going to World War III. The parallel to tariffs is tempting:
But Armstrong sees the fundamental difference:
💬 “We’re not talking about tariffs here. We’re talking about the actual destruction of Russia. If you think they care about Ukraine in any way, wake up.”If they really cared about Ukraine, why does Boris Johnson jump on a plane every time to prevent every peace deal? Armstrong refers to the front page of the Norwegian press: “We’re fighting a proxy war with Russia.” This has absolutely nothing to do with Ukraine.
The illusion of peace: If you think peace means just pushing Russia out of Ukraine – no, they won’t stop. Putin knows that.
“We’re not prepared to see Russia lose – we know we’ll be next”
Armstrong reports on a crucial conversation that illuminates the entire geopolitical situation. Kallas, number two in the EU, met with China’s Foreign Minister.
Her message was clear:
What the Chinese Foreign Minister said was unmistakable:
💬 “We’re not prepared to see Russia lose. We know we’ll be next.”Armstrong confirms: “I had people there – this was said. And he’s right.” Nixon and Kissinger made enormous efforts to separate China and Russia. All these neoconservatives have done is bring the two together. They’ve destroyed the world economy, split it in half.
China would be an absolute fool if it didn’t come and support Russia against NATO. The strategic logic is crystal clear: Today Russia, tomorrow China. Beijing has no choice – it must support Moscow.
“Look, it’s never been wrong. It’s not my opinion. You will lose”
Armstrong refers to his most important tool – his computer. The track record speaks for itself:
1998 – The Russia Warning:
Today – The Same Warning:
The fundamental problem:
💬 “They only want to believe what they want to believe. Julius Caesar said this 2,000 years ago – nothing has changed since: People believe what they want to believe.”The neoconservative fantasy: They want to think they can conquer Russia, rule the world again, beat their chests like King Kong on the Empire State Building. Trump is also becoming too egocentric. He thinks he’s negotiating, but it’s not about negotiation. It’s about the destruction of Russia. And China will target you right after that.
“Capital controls are coming as soon as the first shot is fired”
Armstrong gives practical advice to his clients based on decades of experience with crisis scenarios.
The warning signs are clear:
Europe will impose capital controls. They always do. “And if you think Bitcoin could save you, sorry.” They’ll prevent everything that competes with their digital central bank currency.
Armstrong explains the reality of Bitcoin:
💬 “Bitcoin was really a money laundering tool. It’s not a store of value. That’s where all the volume originally came from China.”The Chinese figured out: “Okay, I can buy Bitcoin here, sell it in the US, and boom, I’ve got the money out.” Canadians used it that way, Europeans use it that way. What will come: They’ll shut it down. They’ll probably prevent any Bitcoin or other digital currencies except their own CBDC.
Spain has already passed a law: You can’t withdraw more than 3,000 euros from your own account without government permission. Armstrong advised his European clients to switch to gold stocks traded on US exchanges.
“He was the first head of state I ever heard who thought at all about the people dying on the battlefield”
Nima brings up an important topic: What’s happening within the MAGA movement.
The cracks are becoming visible:
Charlie Kirk went to Washington, spoke with Trump, tried to prevent an Iran war. Tucker Carlson is doing the same right now. These people are extremely concerned about the future of the United States.
Armstrong remembers a crucial dinner at Mar-a-Lago in March 2020. Trump said he wanted to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. The reason:
💬 “He said he was tired of writing letters to families saying: ‘Your son died for God and country.’ And he said: ‘What are we doing there? What difference will we make? They’ve been fighting over borders there for a thousand years.’”Armstrong’s impression was deep: “He impressed me then, because he was the first head of state I ever heard who thought at all about the people dying on the battlefield.”
Armstrong also had conversations with RFK Jr.: “I spoke with RFK. Same thing. That’s why I also tried to get him to join – he was against the war. He even asked me how I would solve the Ukraine war.” Armstrong was behind the scenes, knows all the tricks and turns.
“I see a contradiction in what Trump is doing. I think in his head he thinks he’s arming up to have better negotiating positions. But he’s wrong. Zelensky takes his orders from the neoconservatives, not from Trump.” If you give him long-range missiles, he’s threatened to level the Kremlin to the ground. He even said: “I hope you have bomb shelters.”
“You can’t fight a war on all fronts simultaneously – that’s how Napoleon lost”
Armstrong delivers a military-strategic analysis based on decades of study. “Because I don’t think it will just be Iran. They’ll join forces with Russia and China. I mean, that divides the world.”
Armstrong has studied military strategy. What he would do in Russia’s and China’s place – a coordinated attack on three fronts:
The reason is historically proven:
💬 “The reason I say that is that’s exactly how Napoleon lost. You can’t fight a war on all fronts simultaneously. Honestly, that’s what I would do. I would consider a three-pronged attack, and that would overwhelm the other side.”In World War II it was simple – the Allies against Hitler, the US in Asia against Japan. Two clearly separate fronts. But a three-front war with simultaneous operations? You have to create division, splinter the enemy’s resources. Armstrong simply looks at history: That’s how you defeat great powers.
“Why am I talking about Russia and they’re talking about China? Because something’s not right here”
Armstrong reveals a remarkable episode from his conversations with the highest government circles. Maybe last year he spoke with someone very high up in the hierarchy on Capitol Hill. What he was told: They had been informed that the US would go to war with China, not Russia.
Armstrong’s answer was immediately clear: “And I said, sorry, but my information is exactly the opposite.” His theory:
💬 “And I think what’s happening is they’re feeding you a fairy tale. You’re watching China, but not what they’re doing in Europe.”Six months later they called back: “Okay, you were right.” The CIA question inevitably arises.
Armstrong contrasts his sources with official intelligence reports:
“But okay, let’s assume we’re on equal footing. Why am I talking about Russia and they’re talking about China? Because something’s not right here. I said, they’re directing you in another direction so you don’t pay attention to what they’re doing here.”
His sources were basically infallible. Offices all over the world, clients agree. The Germans don’t want to see war, the Asians don’t want to see war. So everyone’s asking: “What’s really going on here?”
“They never think about what happens in the next step – ‘I’ll deal with that when I get there’”
Armstrong delivers his most devastating critique of the neoconservatives. The pattern has been the same for decades:
The neoconservative playbook:
With Russia it’s exactly the same: “’Oh, we have to get rid of Putin.’ What happens then? If Putin is overthrown or something, you get someone like Medvedev. ‘You mess with me? Okay, there you go. Boom. I push the button.’”
Armstrong remembers his confrontation with Bill Kristol in the nineties. Irving Kristol, his father, started the whole neoconservative movement. Their promise then:
💬 “Oh, if we go into the Middle East, we take out Saddam Hussein, Assad from Syria and Gaddafi – we bring peace to the Middle East.”Armstrong’s answer: “Are you crazy? Were you ever even there? I was in all those places.” The reality: It’s a tribal culture. They don’t see themselves as Iraqis or Syrians or whatever. They see themselves as Sunnis against Shiites against Kurds. We drew the borders, not them. We divided up the Ottoman Empire after World War I.
Why they needed dictators: They at least prevented them from killing each other. “Once you remove all three, what’s left? Nothing but civil wars.”
Tony Blair on YouTube – his apology: “We thought we’d liberate the people from Saddam’s tyranny.” And then: “We didn’t realize we’d expose them to even more sectarian violence.” Then ISIS comes, beheads people. That’s exactly what Saddam prevented. And on top of that, Saddam was Iran’s number one enemy. “They removed Saddam and thereby strengthened Iran.”
Robert McNamara on YouTube: “Sorry, we were wrong. 58,000 Americans died. We thought Russia was involved. It was just a civil war.”
Armstrong’s assessment: “They’ve never been right about anything, never. They’re too biased. I don’t know what to say. It’s just that I’m really sick of it. Because it’s always the same. Yeah, it’s unbearable. It really is. I mean, give me something new at least once. I’m just sick of the same old crap, over and over and over again.”
“Will Europe wake up before the first Iskander missiles rain down?”
Armstrong gives clear timeframes for what’s coming. The coming years will be decisive:
2028 – The Economic Downturn:
2032 – The Peak:
Europe is imploding economically. They won’t voluntarily give up power. Armstrong quotes the old saying about communism:
💬 “You can vote your way in, but you have to shoot your way out. That’s so true.”Pension funds will collapse. Banking systems will collapse. And then people will storm the parliaments – like in 1869, when they hanged the bankers in the streets. History repeats itself.
“You’re a fool if you think you can convince a fool that he’s wrong.” Armstrong warned them. His computer – which has never been wrong – says: “You will lose.” They don’t want to hear it.
The final question looming over everything: Will Europe wake up before the first Iskander missiles rain down on strategic targets in Germany, France and Britain? Or only after – when it’s too late?
Thank You, Martin Armstrong.
